Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Loot Dealer

Getting Started

What is Loot Dealer?
Loot Dealer is where fans directly fund the artists they actually listen to. One $5/mo subscription streams the full catalog, and 80% of it goes to the artists you played that month — split by your real listening time, never a global pool (patent pending). Artists keep everything else on one page too: fan club, merch, tickets, tips, and direct messages.
How do I join Loot Dealer?
Artists: we're in private beta — apply from the homepage and a human reviews every application (no bots, no spam catalogs). Fans: create a free account any time, no invite needed; you only pay if you subscribe, tip, or buy something.
What does Loot Dealer cost?
Creators pay nothing — uploads, fan club, merch, ticketing, and payouts are all free, with no monthly fee. Fans get a free account; the $5/mo streaming subscription is optional, and a 5% community fee is added on top of tips and purchases — on top, so a $10 tip still delivers the full $10 to the artist.

Payments & Payouts

How do streaming payouts work?
One $5 fan subscription → 80% to the artists that fan listened to that month, in proportion to actual listening time — our patent-pending payout system. A fan who listened 70/30 across two artists sends $2.80 and $1.20 respectively; money routes directly to each artist, never into a global pro-rata pool. Subscription splits release after a 45-day dispute window; tips and merch settle immediately.
How do I receive tips?
Connect your Stripe account in the Payout Account settings. Once connected, fans can tip you directly through your profile. Tips are processed securely through Stripe and deposited to your bank account based on your payout schedule.
What are the fees?
Creators: $0 monthly, and no percentage cut of your tips or fan-club subscriptions. Fans pay a 5% community fee added on top of transactions. Digital sales carry small flat fees ($0.10 per single, $0.25 per album), and print-on-demand merch has a small flat amount on top of production cost — you set the price and keep the markup. The $5 streaming subscription is the one revenue we share: 80% to artists via time-proportional payouts (patent pending), the rest runs the platform.
When do I get paid?
Tips and merch settle immediately and pay out on your Stripe schedule (daily by default). Streaming subscription splits release after a 45-day dispute window, then pay out the same way. You can view your payout schedule and history in your Stripe dashboard.
Can I split revenue with bandmates, a manager, or a label?
Yes. You can share streaming, album-sale, tip, and fan-club revenue with collaborators, band members, a manager, or a label — each at a percentage you both agree to. Nothing is shared until they accept, splits apply only to earnings going forward, and each person is paid directly to their own account. Merch profit and crypto payments aren't split.

For Fans

What's the difference between the $5 subscription and an artist's $3 fan club?
They're two different things. The $5/mo Loot Dealer subscription unlocks streaming of the full catalog, and 80% of it routes to the artists you actually listen to, split by listening time (patent pending). A fan club is per-artist: $3/mo straight to that one artist for exclusive posts, perks, presales, and direct messages. Many fans have both — the subscription to listen, a fan club to back their favorite.
What audio quality do I get?
FLAC lossless for subscribers and fan-club members. 320kbps MP3 for standard access. Free short previews let you hear any track before subscribing.

Account Management

How do I customize my profile?
Go to Profile Edit in your dashboard to customize your display name, bio, profile photo, cover photo, and social links. Your profile is what fans see when they visit your page, so make it engaging!
Can I change my username?
Yes, you can change your username in Profile Edit. Keep in mind that this will change your public URL (lootdealer.com/username), so update any links you've shared. Your old username becomes available for others to claim.
How do I delete my account?
Visit Account Deletion (also linked from Settings). It goes straight to deletion: review the consequences, confirm once, and the account is permanently removed — active subscriptions are cancelled so nothing keeps billing. Withdraw any pending balance first.

Features

Can I sell merchandise?
Yes — print-on-demand through Printful, with no inventory to hold: a fan orders, Printful prints and ships, you keep the markup. Hundreds of products, multi-color designs with per-color mockups, all sold directly from your profile.
How do events and tickets work?
Create events — shows, meet-and-greets, streams — in the Events section with prices, capacity, and details. Tickets use rotating QR codes that refresh every 30 seconds, so screenshots can't be scalped; you can also run fan-club presales and controlled resale. Manage attendees and check-ins from your dashboard.
What is NAV?
NAV is the Artist Development AI built into every artist account. Press the backtick key (`) anywhere on the platform to open it — navigate, ask questions about your numbers, and run actions from one overlay. It knows your career stage and helps across both the platform (fan club, streaming, payouts, referrals) and the craft (release strategy, EPK, collabs, monetization mix).
What are widgets?
Widgets are embeddable tools you can add to your website or streaming overlay. Options include tip buttons, QR codes for mobile tipping, latest supporters feeds, and event calendars. Get embed codes in the Widgets section.
Can I see analytics?
Yes! The Analytics page shows charts for tips over time, profile views, revenue breakdowns, top supporters, traffic sources, and stream-by-stream listening data. Use these insights to understand your audience.
